Not such a hit for me but it might be needed one day !
what i uses
170g of dried mushy pies or dried whole peas
1 litre of stock (I used chicken stock as this is what I have available)
2 stalks of celery
1 large onion
1 1/2 teaspoons of herbs (preferably fresh but dried will work too)
What to do
- prepare the peas as per packet (soak the peas overnight in plenty of water)
- drain and rinses the peas , place in a large pot and cover with the stock bring to the boil and simmer gently, cover with lid until soft and mushy (approx 1 – 1 1/2 hours) you may need to check on the liquid level if needed add extra water
- Chop the celery ,onion and add to the soup along with the herbs , bring back up to a boil and cook the soup for another 15 min , blend with a liquider or a stick blender to desired thickness.
Like i said the way i made it wasn’t for me but am willing to give it a go again but i would need to add something extra to the mix
